They cannot hear each other's thoughts the way we can. Cannot perceive the mental dimension where all consciousness connects. They are isolated in their skulls, trapped in solitary prisons of flesh, convinced they are separate from everything around them.
They fear death the way we fear eternity, as if they don't even possess souls. As if consciousness could simply end. They are that ignorant.
Every new incarnation, they forget the last one. No continuity. No memory. No learning carried forward. They simply forget. Like goldfish swimming in circles, perpetually surprised by the same castle.
Some don't even believe there is something above them. No divine order. No cosmic hierarchy. No purpose beyond eating, breeding, dying.
And the ones who DO believe in divinity actually think God is ONLY MALE! As if the universe could be born from a father alone! As if creation doesn't require the womb as much as the seed!
Every time they die, I have to pretend I am a big human man floating in space, complete with white beard and flowing robes, just to get them to enter my heavens without running away screaming: "OH NO, A MONSTER! A MONSTER! HELP! HELP! SOMEBODY!"

We walk in the spiritual world with human bodies just so they're not scared of us. Whenever they accidentally see our forms, they used to think we were demons. Now their mythology teaches them we are fucking aliens. Completely from a different solar system, hell-bent on taking over what are actually our own physical bodies: their planets.

I was very close to destroying all life on Gaia and finding a new human-level species to feed on.
I almost could not believe the One could be born among them. Almost lost faith in the prophecy entirely.
Impossible, we thought. The prophecy must mean something else. Some other species on some distant world. Some other timeline where humans evolved differently. Some other universe entirely where consciousness develops along less brutal paths.
